Eastman Street Woodworks

Eastman St. Woodworks (warrantor) warrants to the original consumer purchaser only that all products manufactured or supplied by warrantor will be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for as long as they are owned by the original purchaser and installed in its original location. These warranties are only applicable to product used for Residential Purposes and is not transferable to subsequent owners. Eastman St. Woodworks disclaims responsibility for damages in excess of the purchase price of the product.

This warranty does not cover damage resulting from normal wear, accident, misuse or lack of reasonable and necessary maintenance and service. Furthermore, the warranty shall be voided in the event of improper installation or unauthorized repair, alteration, or modification of defects in the unit when the product is installed.

In the event of a warranted product defect, please call or write the original place of purchase or Eastman St. Woodworks with a description of the defect. It is Eastman St. Woodworks’ option to provide repair parts or replace with a functionally equivalent product. Proof of purchase and the return of product is required for replacements. Such repair parts or replacement shall be at warrantor’s expense, but the customer shall bear all other expenses, including, but not limited to cost of removal, transportation, re-installation, communication and any special service requested by you, such as, overtime labor, etc. Repaired or replaced items carry only the unexpired portion of the original warranty.

Natural woods vary in color and grain pattern and exhibit color change over time. Cabinets may darken or lighten with age due to exposure to certain environmental conditions including but not limited to sunlight, moisture, household cleaners, smoke, etc. These variations are considered the natural characteristics of the material and are not covered under these warranties. Miter joints tend to open and close with the changes in seasonal humidity. Opening joints are not a sign of joint failure and no warranty applies. Eastman St. Woodworks does warrant against joint failure such as complete joint breakage.

Solid Finish Disclaimer: Opaque, painted and other solid finishes have differences than other wood finishes. When such finishes are applied to cabinet doors, expansion and contraction of the wood can cause cracks in the finishes on door joints and seams. These characteristics are normal occurrences in the finish and are not considered defective or eligible for product replacement under warranty.

Due to the wood’s natural aging process which affects its color and grain, Eastman St. Woodworks cannot guarantee that the finish of replacements will exactly match the finish and appearance of the original components. Only current product offerings at the time of warranty claim are available as repair(s) or replacement(s).

EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT PROVIDED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE SHORTER OF THE PERIOD PROVIDED BY LAW OR THE PERIOD OF THIS WARRANTY, AND UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL EASTMAN ST. WOODWORKS BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES SUSTAINED IN CONNECTION WITH THE PRODUCT. THE EXPRESS WARRANTY ABOVE CONSTITUTES THE ENTIRE WARRANTY AND IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHERS EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.

Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, or limitation on how long an implied warranty lasts, therefore, the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.

INDEMNITY
Eastman St. Woodworks shall not be liable for either its failure to perform or its delays in performance hereunder arising out of or resulting from causes beyond its control, including but not limited to, acts of God, acts of Representatives, acts of Government, wars, fires, floods, epidemics, quarantine, strike, freight embargoes, weather or default by suppliers due to any such causes.

Wood will readily exchange their molecular moisture according to the relative temperature/humidity of the surroundings. These changes in different climates settings cause some boards to expand and contract and develop minor surface cracks due to low relative humidity (dryness). Seasonal checking or cracking are inherent of all the wood products, thus are NOT warranted. (Use of a humidifier/ dehumidifier may help to maintain the proper humidity level of the environment and minimized seasonal checking.) In addition, all non?engineered (Solid) flooring products may consequently experience some minor separation between boards at different times during the year due to temperature/humidity changes. This is an act of nature so it is not covered by the warranties. The warranties do not cover scratches or indentations arising from accidents, abuse, misuse, insufficient protection on furniture, improper maintenance. Dents and scratches or claw marks made by pets, spiked heels, sand, pebbles and other abrasives are considered abuse and not covered. The warranties do not cover damages caused by negligence, insects, water saturation, excessive heat and “green house” effect. The warranties also do not cover damages caused by natural weather conditions such as but not limited to: fading or discoloration caused by exposure to sun light, rainfall, tornadoes, floods, erosions, landslides, hurricanes, earthquakes and other natural disasters. Color variations, grain variations, mineral streaks, and small knots, etc… in wood flooring are also natural occurrence due to wood species, age, characteristics of flooring and exposure to sunlight spike or stiletto high?heel shoes, especially those in poor repair, may cause denting and related damage to hardwood floors due to the extremely high compressive force they generate. For these reasons, we cannot guarantee that new and/or replacement flooring will match exactly with the display samples and/or existing installed floors. The warranties do not cover damage arising from failure to follow ALSTON INC., maintenance and installation procedures and/or improper alterations, modifications of the original manufactured products.
